Sarah & Mark

So on 23rd April Archipelago after many quiet weeks in the island had a full on flurry of activity with two weddings on the same day in two different countries! Crazy....I know. Anyway the first took place on Islay in Scotland and was that of the incredibly talented local jeweller Sarah Brown who with her model looks and quirky style guaranteed the day to be a stunner. As part of the Glasgow Wedding Collective, Sarah pulled in fellow GWC pals Lyndsay of Skinny Malink and Caro of Caro Weiss Photography to perfect and capture her day as you can see in the following images. An intimate gathering of family and friends was held at the remote Outback Art Gallery on the Northern tip of the island followed by a true Islay shindig at the Rhinns Hall in the picturesque village of Portnahaven on the West Coast.

Congratulations to Sarah and Mark, you were wonderful.

FESTIVE SHOOT

Last weekend we had the absolute pleasure of photographing the new Christmas 2015 range at the amazing 'Jura Lodge'. Although the weather was threatening us we were determined. Keeping our fingers crossed that the boat would go (the 5 minute crossing) and get us back home the same day we heading off on our torrent splitting adventure to our neighbouring 'island of the deer' - Jura.

I first became aware of the Lodge years ago when I worked in the local bookshop. I was casually flicking through the Glasgow Wallpaper City Guide that listed this unique property as a top attraction and I have been desperate to have a snoop since! I can safely say.......it did not disappoint. I was like a child on Christmas morning when the caretaker let us in and I am thrilled to have been able to showcase my work in such beautiful surroundings.

As always we had a great time on Jura. I hope you are equally inspired by the images.

Special Thanks to Willie Cochrane and Rachael at Jura Distillery :-)

ISLAY ELOPEMENT SHOOT

Caol Ila | Finlaggan, Isle of Islay

11th August 2015

With it's rugged landscape and peaks that melt into the sea, Islay makes a spectacularly beautiful place to be married. When over on the island for the launch of Archipelago we embarked on an impromptu shoot to showcase a little of what this place has to offer.

With the help of a few special friends and with the sunshine on a glorious late summer evening we headed off to take some snaps with the Paps of Jura as our backdrop.

If only it weren't for the midges!!!

BOHO WEDDING SHOOT

BoHo Photo Shoot

Bonaly, Edinburgh

25th August 2015

Back in August, I had the pleasure of working with a lovely talented group on a shoot in the wooded hills at Bonaly, Edinburgh.

It was quite a relaxed, elopement theme with a nod to the seventies, which is a period, I myself am most inspired by.

With billowing sleeves, flower crowns and even a crochet playsuit we headed off on our woodland adventure. Here are the results…

Special Thanks to Carley for inviting me to be part of this exciting shoot, Claire for allowing us get our hands on those fabulous vintage numbers, Nikki for the amazing make-up (and laughs) and our willing, gorgeous models.
